At Koto Plum Grove, the “Plum Blossom Opening” is being held together with the “Kotōen Public Hall Cultural Festival.”
The event period is Friday, February 21 to Monday, March 9, 2020.
Plum blossom viewing is from 9:00 until sunset. Please check the program for the Cultural Festival hours.
On weekends during the event period, it looks like amazake and other items will be available for a fee (^_^)v
Here’s what the plum grove looks like now (February 21)↓

Koto Plum Grove also has old plum trees that are over 100 years old… I wonder which ones they are…

Everyone was taking photos of something.
You’re curious, right?
It was this↓

Several Japanese white-eyes had come by.
Apparently, Japanese white-eyes love flower nectar. They’ll even come around if you put out fruit like mandarin oranges (*^^)v
Another bird that signals spring is the Japanese bush warbler, known for its beautiful call. Because of phrases like “uguisu color” and “uguisu with plum blossoms,” it seems they’re often confused with Japanese white-eyes.
Here is the Cultural Festival program↓

The public hall parking lot has limited space, and it’s often full↓

The public hall flyer said, “There is no parking around the public hall, so please refrain from coming by car.”
The Hankyu Bus stop “Kami-Kotōen” is right in front.
It’s a bit of a walk, but there are coin parking lots around Kwansei Gakuin.
Koto Plum Grove is here on the map↓
Spring is just about here. It might be nice to take in the season while enjoying the plum blossoms (#^.^#)
