The “Kurakuen Passport” includes two Indian restaurants.
After visiting “New Taj Mahal Everest” last time, this time we stopped by the other Indian restaurant, “Shri Aruna.”
This restaurant is located a little away from the station, but it has been a popular spot for about eight years since opening.
What kind of place is it?

Indian Restaurant “Shri Aruna Kurakuen Branch” Food
From the several lunch options, I ordered the “Indian Lunch” (1,400 yen).
It comes with salad, tandoori chicken, seekh kebab, vegetable samosa, chicken curry, plain naan, and a soft drink.

First, this salad was brought out.
I wonder if the dressing is homemade.
Apparently, Indian cuisine doesn’t really have one set standard dressing.

Next came a sizzling hot iron plate.
It had tandoori chicken, seekh kebab, and vegetable samosa.
Seekh kebab is an Indian minced meat dish.
Maybe it had all kinds of spices mixed in, because it was spicy and really delicious.
Vegetable samosa is a dish made by filling a wheat-flour pastry with potatoes, beans, and other ingredients, then deep-frying it.
It might be close to imagining a croquette.
The fluffy potatoes, sweetness of the vegetables, and aroma of the spices all came together nicely, and it was delicious.
Tandoori chicken is one of the Indian dishes that is well known in Japan too.
It was reliably tasty.

The curry is usually chicken curry, but since you can change it to a different curry for an extra 200 yen, I switched to mutton curry.
You can also choose the spice level, from 1x to 20x.
I like spicy food, so I got a little adventurous and went with 5x.
You can also change the naan for an extra 200 yen, but this time I stuck with plain naan.
A little rice is served with it too. I think it was turmeric rice.
Mutton is sheep meat, but because it’s simmered with spices, there’s no gamey smell, though it is a little firm.
The spice level was 5x, but even that felt just a bit mild for me…
Next time, I think I’ll try around 10x.
It wasn’t just spicy; it had sweetness, acidity, mildness, and all kinds of elements, making it a really delicious curry.
It’s also quietly nice that you can enjoy both naan and rice.

After the meal, I had hot chai again this time.
This one wasn’t especially heavy on the spices.
It was a comforting tea after a spicy meal.

Now, the stamp count has finally reached nine, though it’s upside down.
The next one will finally be the last!
