We visited “Strawberry Field,” a shop that previously appeared on Nishitsuu after winning the Gold Award at “Karaage Koshien.”
Most of the shops that won Gold at “Karaage Koshien” were karaage specialty shops, but this one is a curry and café restaurant.
Winning gold in a category outside their specialty is pretty impressive.
Actually, it’s also the only place in Nishinomiya where you can eat “Awajishima Curry.”
So what kind of place is it?

Awajishima Curry & Café “Strawberry Field” Food
Since they won Gold for karaage, I thought about ordering their original “Koshien Hero-age,” but I plan to feature the Hero-age another time, so this time I ordered the curry the shop is proud of.

I ordered their most popular item, the “Chicken Cutlet Curry” (1,100 yen).
During lunchtime, it comes with a salad and a drink.

“Awajishima Curry” is a curry developed by the “Awajishima Revitalization Promotion Committee” and “Oki Bussan” and distributed nationwide. It features the sweetness, richness, and spiciness that come from using onions from Awaji Island.
For more details, there is an official “Awajishima Curry” website, so please take a look here↓

When I tried it, the first thing I noticed was the sweetness of the onions.
Just when I thought it might be a sweet curry, the spiciness came in afterward (though it wasn’t too intense).
It was a curry where richness, spice, and sweetness were perfectly balanced.
The chicken cutlet topping was fried crisp on the outside but juicy inside, and it went very well with the curry.
The savory flavor and sweetness of the chicken added even more depth to the Awajishima Curry, making it even more delicious.

After the meal, I had a hot coffee.
It was a relaxed, comfortable place that works well for lunch, café time, or dinner.
