There’s a steakhouse called “彦” located just a little south of National Route 2 along Koshien-suji.
It has a cozy, modest storefront, but since it’s on a road I pass often, I’d been a little curious about it for a while.
So this time, I visited “彦” during lunchtime.

Steak & Teppanyaki “彦” Food
From the several lunch options available, I ordered the “Steak Lunch.”
The Steak Lunch comes in three sizes, A, B, and C, depending on the number of grams. Since I was there, I went with the “C Steak Lunch (180g)” (3,400 yen).
They cook it right in front of you using this teppan grill.
The meat and the accompanying vegetables are grilled like this.
The chef’s movements are so rhythmic that it’s fun just watching.
At a steakhouse, this kind of performance is part of the meal, isn’t it?
A wonderful aroma starts drifting over too…

Just before the steak is ready, the salad is brought out first.
I enjoyed the salad while waiting for the steak to be finished.

There are three dipping options: ponzu, salt, and mustard.
Since it’s domestic beef tenderloin, it’s extremely tender, and because it isn’t too fatty, it’s easy to eat.
Of course, it goes without saying that it’s a very delicious steak packed with the savory flavor of the meat.
The recommended doneness is definitely rare (this one was rare too).
Since it’s a thick steak, I think it’s best not to cook it too much so it stays tender and delicious.
After the meal, I had a “Hot Coffee” (200 yen).
Is it really okay to indulge this much at lunchtime…?
