Welcome to “Miyacco Detective,” a section where readers can investigate Nishinomiya’s mysteries and feel like they’ve become detectives. Well, technically they really are detectives. Whenever we receive tips from readers (Miyacco Detectives), this article will be updated bit by bit.
Here at @nishi2, we receive lots of tips and emails every day asking us to “look into” different things.
The @nishi2 team is excellent, of course, but there’s only so much we can do on our own, so we’ve decided to ask our readers for help~(^o^)/

Period: It was there until recently

The place where the Daido neon sign used to be is here ↓↓
The address is 4-53 Mondo Higashimachi, Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture.

When the Daido neon sign was there~

And when it’s not~

Even when we went closer…
It really is gone 😭

Even from another angle, it’s still gone 😭

This neon sign could be called a symbol of Mondo-Yakujin Station.
Like Parnus-san, many people may be feeling lonely now that the Daido neon sign is gone.
So…
For this edition of Miyacco Detective, we’d like to collect photos from when the Daido neon sign was still there and memories of it.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if everyone could share their memories and episodes from when the Daido neon sign was still around? 😃
So if you have any photos or stories of the sparkling Daido neon sign, we’d love to hear from you.

I live nearby, and I really liked the somewhat retro feel of the vertical katakana neon sign for Daido, which would shine almost divinely at night.
It had been covered with protective netting, so I figured construction was underway, but when the netting came down and I realized that the entire neon sign was gone, I felt a little shocked.
I think the lights usually went off around 10:30, and if my child was still awake around the time it went dark, I’d say, “Daido has already gone out, so you shouldn’t still be awake!” We used it like a clock, too, so I feel very lonely now.
