We got takeout of the “Classic Udon Bento” from Marugame Seimen Nishinomiya Maehama, which reopened after renovation on August 9.

What we bought at “Marugame Seimen”
Classic Udon Bento ¥390 (tax included)
The udon is served cold. After ordering, they quickly packed it right in front of me, and it was ready in about a minute.
There was plenty of broth! It came with four side items plus green onions.
Side items included
- Chikuwa isobe tempura
- Vegetable bara tempura
- Kinpira gobo
- Tamagoyaki
The tamagoyaki was sweet and moist. The kinpira gobo had a slightly stronger seasoning, and both went really well with the udon!
The tempura made a crispy sound when I bit into it!
And the udon has that sticky, chewy texture! Above all, Marugame Seimen’s udon is loooong. Mix it up with the broth and green onions, and dig in〜😋
This “Classic Udon Bento” felt like a light dinner in terms of portion size. For lunch, it might be just right. Tempura tends to get soft if too much time passes after buying it, so I recommend eating it soon after purchase!

The takeout area also has tempura and onigiri lined up, so you can see and choose what you want. Payment here was cash only.
