Nishinomiya held a “Yuru-Chara General Election”〜.

They were doing something called the “YuruChara General Election”〜〜.

It was held at the event venue of the Nishinomiya Local Wholesale Market (Oroichi), which hosts events every month.

It’s the event held just a short walk from JR Nishinomiya Station, a little ways inside this building along Route 2!
We have a Nishitsu report from the first edition.
Alright, let’s head in.

Huh? There are things that look like leaves stuck up〜. What’s this?

Right between Umeda and Sannomiya!! Ohh, I see.

Full of nature

Kabutoyama Aha〜〜

A great place to live! This is that thing!
It’s about what people love about Nishinomiya〜(The video is by Kyuso Nekokami, a Nishinomiya-loving band of Miyakko locals who graduated from Kwansei Gakuin〜)

This is one of the efforts by students from Professor Ooka’s seminar at Kwansei Gakuin University to help revitalize the “Nishinomiya City Wholesale Market.”

The idea is to write what you like about Nishinomiya on a leaf. I wonder how many shop names I know〜

Shachomi is going to write one too〜. What I like about Nishinomiya…

Umm〜〜 let’s see…(Sharp readers might already know)

Sake

Grandma’s house! Okay, that wins!

And then, this General Election!

This was also part of Ooka Seminar’s project, and the goal was to choose a yuru-chara mascot for Oroichi Marche!

Since it’s a “wholesale market,” I got the impression there were tons of vegetable characters.

There are 19 candidates. Th-this is way more than the Hyogo governor election. It’s a fierce race.

Which one should I vote for… This is tough.

I carefully read every single face and profile, and made my choice.

Vote completeWe’ll announce the winner in this article! Keep reading a little more

They were also doing a stamp rally.

There was eggplant,

lotus root〜

And at the end, I was wondering what it would be, and it turned out to be a quiz.

I see. Bok choy, spinach, or komatsuna. Three choices.

If I smell it, this should be easy.

“This smell is definitely bok choy〜(full of confidence)”

Bzzzz〜〜〜
The answer was komatsuna〜〜😨 No waaay.

Okay then, which one of these is green onion〜?

Even Shachomi got this one right. Thank goodness〜〜〜!

Last up was okra!! That’s Oroichi for you.

Once you collect all the stamps,

What a surprise! You can get your favorite dagashi snack for free!

So many nostalgic dagashi snacks〜
