The butcher shop “牛之助” in Minamikoshikiiwa-cho near Kurakuen-guchi Station has closed.

The signs out front and other exterior signage had been removed. We weren’t able to find out exactly when it closed, but according to the person who sent in the tip, it seems to have been open at least until around February.

If you go this way, you’ll find places like the municipal Kitashukugawa Nursery School, followed by a residential area.
If you go in the opposite direction, you’ll find Flowers and the Koshikiiwa Police Box, and it leads out to Kurakuen-guchi-dori.

According to online reviews, the shop apparently opened around 2010 and was known as a place where you could buy quality meat, including Yamagata beef and Kagoshima wagyu, at reasonable prices. They also had prepared foods that could be fried on the spot, and the minced meat cutlet was especially popular. It’s really a shame to see it close.
