I went to the “Koshien Beer Festa,” held today, July 7, where beer vendors gathered around the stadium’s outer area, so here’s what it was like.

It was drizzling today, and unfortunately today’s game ended up being canceled.
Five Great Food Spots at Koshien Beer Festa
This time, shops that are usually only available inside the stadium had set up outside around the stadium. Let’s take a look at what kinds of shops were there.
Kentucky Fried Chicken. The kind of thing that goes perfectly with beer.
Fugetsu, the okonomiyaki shop! It also appeared in Nishitsu’s survey, “What’s your favorite okonomiyaki restaurant in Nishinomiya?” Why does okonomiyaki go so well with beer?
Horumon and steak skewers are also perfect beer companions. If you’re hungry, the hearty yakiniku bento is the way to go.
I don’t think this one is usually a shop inside the stadium. A secret shop! Shumai has some volume to it, so it’s great for eating properly while drinking beer!!
Everyone’s favorite grilled beef tongue, plus the slightly unusual fried beef tongue. They also sell edamame, a classic that goes perfectly with beer.
I tried buying the fried beef tongue. I usually only eat thin-sliced beef tongue, but when it’s fried, it has a nice springy texture! It works!!

It Wasn’t Just Beer
This time, there was a special service where the beer vendors poured beer for you around the outer area.

- Chuhai (lemon, Kyoho grape, mango)
The vendor ladies pour it straight from the keg for you.
Kirin Beer was also being sold. From Lager to Ichiban Shibori and even craft beer.

A special “Jack Daniel’s” booth!
They even had barrels that I’d only ever seen in Monster Hunter!!
Koshien’s specialty, the Koshien Honey Ball! It’s a highball with a honey flavor, mixed with ginger ale.
It has mint in it. I’m not good with highballs, but this was really delicious. It had a sweet taste.

Finally
It’s also being held this weekend on Saturday and Sunday (7/8 and 7/9), from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Beer tastes great outside, so if you’re interested, why not check it out?
