What will happen?
- Commemorative Match: The match between Sota Fujii Ryuo/Meijin and Yoshiharu Habu 9-dan will be shown on the main video screen.
- Large-board Commentary: Commentary by Koji Tanigawa, 17th Lifetime Meijin, Yuki Muroya, Ladies Professional 3-dan, and others.
- Talk Show: A talk show featuring special guests and professional shogi players.
- Ground Walk: Visitors can take photos on the Koshien Stadium field, which is usually off-limits.
- Elementary School Shogi Koshien: A quick-play tournament for elementary school students. The winners (one from the lower grades and one from the upper grades) will receive an award and take commemorative photos with Sota Fujii Ryuo/Meijin and Yoshiharu Habu 9-dan on the special stage.
Schedule for the Day
- 9:00〜9:30: Ground Walk ① (for Elementary School Shogi Koshien participants)
- 9:30〜12:30: Elementary School Shogi Koshien quick-play tournament
- 10:00: Gates open, Ground Walk ② (for A unreserved seat ticket holders)
- 11:30〜12:30: Ground Walk ③ (for SS reserved seat and S reserved seat ticket holders)
- 12:45〜13:15: Talk show with special guests, 17th Lifetime Meijin Tanigawa, and others
- 13:30〜: Sota Fujii Ryuo/Meijin vs Yoshiharu Habu 9-dan 100th Anniversary Commemorative Match, large-board commentary
- After the match: Post-game analysis by both players, etc.
- 16:00: Scheduled to end

- SS reserved seat ticket with special bento & lounge access: 15,000 yen
- SS reserved seat: 8,000 yen
- S reserved seat: 6,000 yen
- A unreserved seat: Adults 2,500 yen / Children 1,500 yen
- Wheelchair-accessible seats: SS reserved seat 7,500 yen, S reserved seat 5,500 yen, A unreserved seat 2,000 yen
By the way, the match itself will apparently take place in the “Royal Suite Floor VIP Room” inside Koshien Stadium〜! So it won’t be played out on the field after all〜〜😂
Elementary School Shogi Koshien (held the same day)
- Date and time: Sunday, December 8, 9:30〜12:30
- Place: Hanshin Koshien Stadium, 1st-base and 3rd-base side bullpens
- Eligibility: Elementary school students (must be able to play a match on their own)
- Details: Quick-play tournament. Players who are eliminated are also scheduled to receive teaching games from professional shogi players.
- Participation fee: 4,000 yen (tax included)
Includes a pair of A unreserved seat tickets for the commemorative match for the participant and a guardian - Application period: Friday, August 30, 10:00〜Monday, October 28, 23:59
- Capacity: 128 participants (64 in the upper grades division, 64 in the lower grades division)

It’s pretty amazing that you can watch a dream match between Sota Fujii Ryuo/Meijin and Yoshiharu Habu 9-dan at Koshien Stadium〜〜! The atmosphere during the match will probably be totally different from a usual baseball game. I’m curious what it’ll feel like〜😆
