The “Grand Pottery Fair” is currently being held at Nishinomiya Shrine.
Banners and signs like these are up around the area.
It looks like the event will run until February 11.
Since the Akamon Gate is under construction and cannot be used, I took photos of the scene inside from the South Gate.
There are lots of tents lined up like this, selling pottery from different regions.
From what I saw briefly, there were pieces such as Banko ware (Mie Prefecture), Shigaraki ware (Shiga Prefecture), Arita ware (Saga Prefecture), Karatsu ware (Saga Prefecture), Bizen ware (Okayama Prefecture), Hasami ware (Nagasaki Prefecture), and Imari ware (Saga Prefecture).
You can find good deals, including discounted items with minor imperfections, and you can also ask the shop staff for detailed information about each type of pottery.
Some shops also accepted electronic money and credit cards.
I think this is a great chance to buy pottery, so why not stop by and take a look?
