More convenience stores in Nishinomiya are adding self-checkout systems

Apparently, more and more convenience stores are getting self-checkout registers, and it looks like several convenience stores in Nishinomiya now have “self-checkout” too!

Supermarkets have had self-checkout registers for quite a while now, but what are convenience store self-checkouts like??

FamilyMart Self-Checkout

I had never used a convenience store self-checkout before, so I gave it a try～

First, choose your payment method

There are kind of a lot of options to choose from. I found myself wondering what I should pay with～

The self-checkout has “How to Use the Self-Checkout” written on it like this, so no need to worry.

Once you’ve decided on a payment method, just follow the instructions on the touch panel!

Things to Keep in Mind When Using Self-Checkout for the First Time

• There are lots of payment options, so decide quickly
• Follow the touch panel instructions obediently
• Even if people line up behind you, stay calm and don’t panic

It was my first time using a convenience store self-checkout, and people started lining up behind me while I was in the middle of using it, so I got a little flustered～
I overcame the silent pressure from the people waiting, as if they were saying “Hurry up～,” and completed the whole process without making any mistakes.
Trying anything for the first time can make you a little nervous, but I feel like next time I’ll be able to use the self-checkout like a pro.
Still, I guess a regular register is fine too～

The address is 4-12 Koshien Sudoricho, Nishinomiya, Hyogo.

The “Nishinomiya Imazu Shamaecho store” also has self-checkout.

However, this store mainly opens the self-checkout at night, and it seems the self-checkout is closed during the daytime.
