Introducing shops visited by Nishitsu’s gourmet writer
in our “Nishitsu Gourmet” series.
This time, we visited the bakery “マルメリブレッド” in Honwaka Shopping Street, right by JR Koshienguchi Station, which opened on Friday, January 11, 2019!
We previously reported on the opening, but everything had sold out, so the food review had to wait until another day…
It’s still busy, but this time we were finally able to buy some, so let’s take a look(๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧
First up is this!
★Croissant
Croissants taste best fresh out of the oven, so we ate this one while walking around♪
It’s crisp on the outside, chewy inside, packed with butter, and so delicious♡
I could eat any number of these! I already want another one!
Next up is this!
★Shokupan
When you think of a bakery, classic shokupan is a must, right?
The loaf has a nice weight to it, and you can really tell the dough is densely packed.
It’s warm, incredibly chewy, and sweet!
Once you take a bite, you just can’t stop(つ♡∀♡///⊂)
The fragrant crust and the sweetness of the soft inside went perfectly together. It was so good♪
This time, we arrived in front of the shop 10 minutes before its 9:00 opening, but there were already a few people lined up.
As soon as the shop opened, everyone rushed straight for the croissants（笑）
The staff also said the croissants and shokupan are popular!
I wanted a croissant too, but it sold out right in front of me. Then a kind person gave one to me!
Things like that don’t happen very often, so I was incredibly happy(´°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥ω°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥`)

That person had also lined up several times before and was happy to finally get to try one today( ⁎ᵕᴗᵕ⁎ )

If you want a croissant, we recommend lining up before the shop opens!
