Apparently, an event called the “1st Hansai Bar & Marche” will be held in Hanshin Nishinomiya on the 21st of this month. (We’re planning to introduce it properly in another article.)
So for our first 3,000-yen izakaya challenge in a while, we went to Hanshin Nishinomiya.
This time, we visited a place called “ソの弐SANAKA style香櫨園屋台.”
It’s probably related to Yakitori “最中（SANAKA）,” which used to be in Koroen.
So, how did this one turn out…

Challenge Start!
This is our goal for today.
I guess “senbero” means getting happily tipsy for 1,000 yen.
Apparently, you get three drinks and a small dish for 1,000 yen.
And tax is included. (Important.)
That seems like a pretty great deal.

This time, we’re going with the “Senbero Grand Strategy”!!
By the way, the senbero deal is available until 22:00, so keep that in mind.
First, we have to start with this.
The beer is Carlsberg.
Here’s the small dish.
The contents of the small dish vary depending on the day.
This alone is already a pretty satisfying item.
I finished the beer in no time.
This time, I want to try various drinks from the senbero menu.
For my second drink, I went with a highball.
I wasn’t sure what to order for food, but I ended up choosing skewers after all.
This is the “5-piece charcoal-grilled yakitori skewer assortment” (650 yen).
Since I had ordered yakitori, I chose sake for my third drink.
It’s one go, so that’s a pretty good deal.
At this point, the total is around 1,700 yen.
I wasn’t sure what to do next, but I decided to go for a second round of senbero~~
The second round starts with red wine.
Here’s the small dish this time.
For my fifth drink, I had Jim Beam on the rocks.
At this point, I was definitely starting to feel it.
For the final sixth drink, I had Kakushigura (barley shochu) on the rocks.
I was getting drunk and forgot to take a photo before finishing it…
The total should be around 2,700 yen at this point, so I decided to have dessert at the end.
For dessert, I chose vanilla ice cream (250 yen).
So, what was the final total?
Since I did the 1,000-yen tax-included senbero twice, it was pretty easy to calculate…
Now for the result~~~
2,970 yen!!
A clear success~~
I may be starting to get the hang of this.
This time, I ordered Carlsberg, a highball, sake, red wine, Jim Beam on the rocks, Kakushigura on the rocks, two small dishes, and a 5-piece charcoal-grilled yakitori skewer assortment.
I’m not sure whether you can really get completely tipsy for 1,000 yen, but with 2,000 to 3,000 yen, I think you can get pretty nicely drunk.

It used to be a yakitori place, but surprisingly, there isn’t that much yakitori on the menu.
For some reason, the mapo tofu is apparently the most popular item.
