Have you heard of Kankodo’s “Okaki Maki”?
I went looking for a Nishinomiya specialty… and picked up “Okaki Maki,” a snack born in Nishinomiya, from Kankodo.
The main shop is in Koshien, but this time I bought it at the Hirota shop. Here’s what the storefront looks like↓↓
“Okaki Maki” comes in this kind of package.
Each bag contains 6 pieces. (This time, I bought the 12-piece set for 1,130 yen, which also felt perfect as a small gift, but there were all kinds of assorted sets available.)
Inside, it looks like this↓↓ Two rectangular soy sauce rice crackers (okaki) are wrapped in one sweet senbei cracker. It looks pretty plain, but in one bite you get both sweet and salty flavors, plus the subtly different textures of senbei and okaki. It had a slightly addictive taste!(^^)!
