A bright blue sky, the townscape visible in the distance, and a lively schoolyard… this is Kurakuen Elementary School!I went to the “Kurakuen Summer Festival,” held again this year on the first day of summer vacation, on July 19!
All Kinds of Food Stalls
Takoyaki and croquettes, the classics!

Disaster-preparedness curry made with alpha rice! It’s a handy emergency food for times of disaster!

“Kochiki” is a Famichiki-style chicken sold at the “Moto no Kai Cafeteria” at Nishinomiya Kabutoyama High School! The cafeteria at Kabutoyama High School had been left without its operating company, and is now run by alumni and local residents. But since the school is going to close, next year might be the last chance to eat it…

“Hey, sir! Would you like to draw an omikuji fortune?”
“Cracker-kun” from the newly established “Nishinomiya Kurakuen High School” called out to me.
This year, Kurakuen High School and Nishinomiya Kita High School launched a new club that makes full use of digital technology, called the “DX Club.”At the summer festival, they were running “AI Omikuji” fortunes! The DX Club was also featured on Sun TV (audio plays)!
The result was…
Amazingly, great luck! You tell it your date of birth, but since it’s AI-randomized, the result seems to differ from person to person!
All Kinds of Events
Kabutoyama High School’s light music club was singing songs like “Ao to Natsu” and “Gurenge”! After that, there were also performances by the dance clubs from Kurakuen High School and Nishinomiya Kita High School!

Here are the familiar “Miyatan” and Kurakuen Elementary School’s character “Kurakko”!There was also a raffle drawing held by Mayor Ishii.

MC: “Mayor! If the children write you letters during summer vacation, you’ll reply to them, right?”
Mayor Ishii: “Yes!”
He’s such a kind mayor, but I hope he doesn’t overdo it~~
Finally
About 2,000 people came again this year, and the festival was a huge success just like this!It will probably be held again right at the start of summer vacation next year, so be sure to check it out then!
