When it comes to specialty tea shops in Nishinomiya, the famous “Mlesna Tea House” immediately comes to mind.
We heard that Mlesna Tea House, which will celebrate its 35th anniversary next year, started offering an “all-you-can-eat scones and all-you-can-drink tea” service on December 20, so “Mama” and “Niko” went to check it out right away.

All-You-Can-Eat Scones and All-You-Can-Drink Tea
The reason we visited Mlesna Tea House this time was for:
“Scone Free & Tea Free: 2,200 yen including tax”
All-you-can-drink flavored tea from Mlesna Tea House? Isn’t that an incredible deal!!
These are flavored teas made with high-quality tea leaves from Sri Lanka. Normally, a single cup costs over 1,000 yen.
And on top of that, freshly baked scones are all-you-can-eat too.
No matter how you look at it, it’s just too good of a deal!!
Scones and Flavored Tea
The first tea served was “Raspberry Christmas Hot Straight.”
It smells so good～
It really does～ It’s so calming～
It felt like all the tension left my body and I suddenly switched into relaxation mode.
Ahh, this is bliss～
It’s so soothing～
It was such a happy time that we could have gone on having this kind of conversation forever😃
The scones are baked in this machine right next to us.
It takes about 20 minutes for the scones to finish baking, and while we waited, the owner sat beside us and shared all kinds of stories～
He started the business in 1985, the year the Hanshin Tigers won the championship, when he was 25 years old.
Back then, it was an era dominated by coffee, and he was told by all sorts of people, “Who’s going to drink tea?” But after drinking fresh tea in Sri Lanka, he thought, “Something this good has to be shared.”
As we listened to his stories, the scones were ready before we knew it.
They’re piping hot～ This is my first time eating freshly baked scones～♪
I want to eat about 50 of them～
Wait, 50!!
The owner, sitting next to us, laughed and said, “You can eat 50 if you want, but I doubt you’ll be able to～”
We had them with cinnamon cream and clotted cream.
The owner himself taught us how to eat the scones: “Cut them down the middle, add some cream, and enjoy～”
What are these scones?! They’re completely different from any scone I’ve ever had! They’re so moist, with a soft buttery flavor, and I feel like I could eat as many as I want!
They’re too delicious～ I really do want to eat 50～
Don’t scones usually have that image of being dry and taking all the moisture out of your mouth?
The scones at Mlesna Tea House are incredibly moist.
They completely changed my idea of what a scone can be.

The owner told us, “Three is way too few. You’ve got to eat at least five～”
Apparently, the record among women is 8 scones.
As for the tea, the staff came to refill our cups just as they became empty.
We drank about six cups of various flavored teas, including Sweet Moon Paris and Rose Forever.
It was the first time I had ever had this much tea in one day.
This service is limited to 8 seats from 14:00 to 17:00, and you enjoy it in this area.

Mlesna Tea House Soft Serve Ice Cream
From Wednesday, December 11 to Tuesday, December 31, you can enjoy Mlesna Tea House soft serve ice cream on the 1st floor of Nishinomiya Hankyu!
The owner’s recommendation is the “Hana Ichigo Tea Soft Serve Ice Cream.”
Apparently, it is unbelievably delicious!
I’ve had the Happy Royal Milk Tea Soft Serve before, so I’m planning to go try the “Hana Ichigo Tea Soft Serve Ice Cream” while it’s available.
