This is part of our 3,000-yen izakaya challenge, and this year I’m thinking of checking out the Imazu area too, since I haven’t been there much before.
There are quite a few izakayas in Imazu as well.
This time I visited the beef skewer restaurant “源家 今津本店.”
Draft beer is 280 yen a glass, so it looked like I’d be able to enjoy plenty of beer for the first time in a while.

Challenge Start!
First up is a “Nama-chu mug” draft beer (280 yen).
This time, I’m planning to stick with beer all the way.
By the way, the beer is “Super Dry.”
I ordered one of the restaurant’s recommended items, “Seared pork belly” (480 yen).
The richness of the pork fat and the flavor of the sauce go together perfectly, and it really makes the beer disappear fast.
The wasabi adds a nice accent too.
And just like that, I’m already on my second glass.
Since this is a beef skewer place, of course I had to try the beef skewers.
First was “Beef tendon (salt)” (200 yen).
You can choose sauce or salt, and I went with salt.
Since it’s tendon, it does have some chew to it, but it isn’t overly tough.
You can really enjoy the umami of the beef tendon.
Third glass……
Next was “Beef liver (salt)” (200 yen).
It was cooked through properly with no unpleasant smell, and it was delicious liver.
The beer keeps going down even faster.
This is my fourth beer.
It’s been a while since I’ve been able to drink four glasses.
This time I tried one with sauce.
It’s “Beef harami skirt steak (sauce)” (300 yen).
The harami is delicious, and the sauce is excellent too.
For my last skewer, I chose this “Beef-wrapped ume shiso” (280 yen).
It’s ume shiso wrapped in beef, making for a refreshing dish.
Now then, I still seem to have some room left, so I’m going to order something to finish off the meal.
For the finale, I went with this “Salt onigiri” (180 yen).
The rice was cooked just right and the salt level was perfect, so I was able to wrap things up with a tasty onigiri.
Now, how much did the bill come to……
Here’s the result!!
The total was!!!
2,871 yen!!!
That’s what it came to!
Huh? I thought it would be much closer to the limit……
So I checked, and apparently on Mondays and Thursdays, “kalbi” and “harami” are half price.
The “Beef harami” I ate had been discounted.
This time I ordered four nama-chu draft mugs, seared pork belly, beef tendon (salt), beef liver (salt), beef harami (sauce), beef-wrapped ume shiso, and a salt onigiri.
That was everything～～
