There’s a tofu shop called “豆匠” in Yamaguchi-cho.
Previously, when I wrote an article about “豆腐工房” near Hanshin Koroen Station,
I searched Google for “tofu shops” in Nishinomiya City and found out there was a tofu shop called “豆匠” in Yamaguchi-cho.
Here’s that article↓↓
I’d been curious about it for a long time, and I finally got to visit~(^o^)/
Inside “豆匠”

Freshly made “tofu,” “atsuage” deep-fried tofu, “oage-san” fried tofu, and more were lined up.
The phrase “一丁入魂” really shows their passion for tofu!
There’s a Kumamon stuffed toy because they use soybeans from Kumamoto~(^_^)

It looks like “豆匠” tofu was featured on “知産地賞にしのみや,” a website that introduced products from Nishinomiya.(The “知産地賞にしのみや” website no longer exists, but when we checked with the Nishinomiya Chamber of Commerce and Industry, they said the initiative is still continuing in a different form.)

There was also a report article about the event. Here

Products at “豆匠”

Cotton tofu “宴” 400g \335
Silken tofu “雅” 350g \310
Freshly scooped tofu \385
Atsuage deep-fried tofu \385
Bite-size ganmodoki(5 pieces) \465

They also had soy milk, “nama-age,” and more~

What I thought was especially unusual was the “bite-size ganmodoki”.
They told me, “It’s lightly seasoned with natural dashi, so you can eat it without simmering it~” (^_^)
I’d always thought ganmo was something that became delicious after being simmered and soaking up dashi, but this is tasty even without simmering.
It’s delicious just warmed up a little in the microwave and eaten as is~
If you lightly grill it and eat it with grated daikon or ponzu, you can enjoy a different kind of deliciousness♪
It’s the perfect dish to go with drinks!
What “豆匠” Is Particular About
豆匠’s tofu is very particular about its ingredients:
- Domestic soybeans
- Natural nigari coagulant
- Domestic rapeseed oil
- Everything is domestically produced
“That’s why the flavor is completely different,” the lady at the shop told me~
It really is a step above supermarket tofu!
They don’t use any chemical seasonings either, so it’s safe and reassuring.
There are more details on their website.
Apparently, some people buy it for baby food too~(^_^)
You can buy “豆匠” tofu at places like “Daimaru Ashiya,” “natural food stores,” and “Toshi Seikatsu Co-op”😀
