I heard that a danjiri festival will be held at Kochi Shrine in Yamaguchi-cho, so
I went to take a look in advance.
It’s an impressive shrine surrounded by natural forest.

Around the shrine grounds, there were banners for the “Danjiri Festival”…

At the Yamaguchi-cho Danjiri Festival, as many as seven danjiri floats gather at the shrine from their respective districts.
Below is the schedule for one of the seven danjiri floats, traveling from Kinsenji to Kochi Shrine. ※This was posted at the Yamaguchi-cho Local History Museum.

The danjiri gather at the otabisho,

then proceed one by one along Miyamae-dori,

pass through the torii gate, and enter the shrine.

I’m looking forward to seeing just how grand the festival will be on the day itself!(^^)! It seems that mikoshi portable shrines will gather in addition to the danjiri, and there will also be food stalls.
Autumn Festival Schedule (planned times)
10:30 Annual festival ritual (miko dance)
13:00 Shinko-sai procession
14:00 Yamaguchi Taiko dedication performance
Around 14:00 Otabisho ritual
Around 15:00 Danjiri shrine entry
Kochi Shrine is located here↓
For more details, please search for Yamaguchi danjiri on the Yamaguchi-cho website. It’s a very easy-to-understand website! And you can learn all about Yamaguchi-cho there.

On the way home, I was seen off by a mystical sunset…… Here’s hoping for good weather on the 13th (^o^)/
