It looks like smartphones will sound on Friday, November 5 for a tsunami evacuation drill in preparation for a Nankai Trough earthquake.

It appears to be a prefecture-wide evacuation drill by Hyogo Prefecture. There was also an evacuation drill last year on the same date, November 5.

Finally
When we were kids, we took part in evacuation drills at school, but once you’re an adult, there really aren’t many chances to join one, are there? This might be a good opportunity to check the Hyogo Prefecture CG Hazard Map, or for those who can, to try doing a ShakeOut drill. Smartphone “Emergency Alert Emails (Area Mail)” are loud and can really startle you (though of course they’re important), so just knowing that the alert will sound for an evacuation drill at 10:02 on November 5 should help keep you from being surprised. Please let your family and friends know too.
