It looks like a Hankyu train was transported by vehicle through Nishinomiya on June 23.
(This info was provided by Kagayaki No. 509 @ Nishitsu SP)
After we published the previous article, “Did you know a Hankyu train was transported by vehicle through Nishinomiya on June 23?,” we received all kinds of tips, so we’re suddenly doing this↓

Information from Miyakko Detectives
After we turned the above into an article, we received various tips, so we’d like to share the information from our Miyakko Detectives.
It looks like a former Nose Railway car that was cut down.
It’s their specialty cutaway model!
It’s probably car number 2050. This was the car involved in a 1984 Golden Week collision at Rokko Station with a Sanyo Electric Railway limited express train, which had run a red signal and entered the main line after turning back at Mikage.
↑→ That’s the second-generation one. The car involved in the collision was scrapped, and after some reshuffling, a 2100 series car was modified to replace it.
Incidentally, the original 2050 was scrapped after an accident in 1984, and the car transported this time is actually the second-generation version, converted and renumbered from car 2154.
That later became Nose Railway car 1754. Since it was recently retired, it has now been restored to its Hankyu-era appearance and car number for preservation.
Everyone knows way too much. lol
And now we’ve received photos and a detailed explanation of why it was seen in Nishinomiya like this.
That train was a former Hankyu car that had been running on the Nose Railway. Yoshikawa Hachiman Shrine in Toyono Town, Osaka Prefecture, purchased the retired train, restored it to its Hankyu-era appearance, and was transporting it for display.

The shrine priest had announced the transport route and date on Twitter in advance, so railway fans gathered along the road to take photos.(The photo shows the train cars displayed at the shrine.)

I was also waiting in front of the Nishinomiya Depot to take photos, and I think there were more than 10 people waiting nearby.
Thanks to the kindness of the shrine priest and those involved, the vehicle made a temporary stop in front of the Nishinomiya Depot so people could take photos.

It looks like the transported train will be unveiled on July 7!
So its true identity was a Nose Railway train, it had connections to a collision at Rokko Station, and now it’s being preserved at a shrine. No wonder this train drew so much attention. We learned a lot.
Miyakko Detectives, thank you for all the information and photos!
