Around noon today, 8/24, there was a nutria moving along with sludge in an irrigation channel in Oyamacho near Nishinomiya-Kitaguchi Station.

According to Punipuni-san, who filmed it, it was slowly heading south while occasionally munching on the grass along the side of the irrigation channel.Wonder if it was eating it
Speaking of nutria
They’re probably well known for living in the Mukogawa River.By the way, nutria are designated invasive alien species, so you’re not allowed to transport them without permission. Though “transport” sounds kind of funny lol
This time, it appeared
on the road north of Gardens. It was in an irrigation channel in Oyamacho, very close to Nakatsuhama Line.

This is a map called Nishinomiya City’s designated waterway map. There is the Tsumon River near the spot where it was found, and when looking at the irrigation channel map, there was a place where they were connected.
This is a nutria taking a nap that was spotted in the Tsumon River the year before last.
The nutria in this irrigation channel may have come from the Tsumon River. You might even spot one in an irrigation channel in your own neighborhood.
