AI Analyzes the Flow of People
Shopping Crowd Map is a service that launched on May 7.
It analyzes big data on the flow of people based on location information from Beacon Bank, a smartphone app with around 60 million downloads. (For details on how it works, please see the source.)
On the site’s map, crowd levels at supermarkets, drugstores, discount stores, and home improvement centers are shown by color: quiet, normal, and crowded.

You usually don’t know how crowded a supermarket is until you actually go there, so it’s nice to see a service that makes that visible with this kind of idea. You can view crowd levels by time for the past week, so it looks like you could use it to aim for less crowded times.
