An exhibition and book fair called “Nishinomiya as a Filming Location” is now being held at Nishinomiya City Kitaguchi Library!
This article is brought to you by “Nichinoken,” a cram school that supports Nishitsu.
Here’s our own little quiz from the exhibition!
Which of the following works used “Nishinomiya City Wholesale Market” as a filming location??
1. Fortuna’s Eye
2. Hankyu Railway
3. Toilet no Kamisama
4. Manpuku
- 1、フォルトゥナの瞳12.6%(34票)
- 2、阪急電車48.1%(130票)
- 3、トイレの神様8.9%(24票)
- 4、まんぷく30.4%(82票)
It looks like Nishinomiya City Wholesale Market will hand over the land by the end of September this year, and construction will begin after that.
There isn’t much time left to see it as it is now!
By the way, this spot also seems to appear in the film “Nishikita Chopin”, which won international film awards in four countries!
The exhibition and book fair “Nishinomiya as a Filming Location” is being held at Kitaguchi Library (ACTA Nishinomiya East Building, 5th floor) until Wednesday, June 2.

The correct answer was 4. Manpuku!
Manpuku was the 2018 morning TV drama series modeled after Momofuku Ando!
Nishinomiya City Wholesale Market was apparently used to represent a 1985 streetscape.
Do you remember what it looked like〜🙄? I want to watch the drama again…
And,
1. “Fortuna’s Eye” (2019 film) used a mobile phone shop near Koshien
2. “Hankyu Railway” (2011 film) used Otemae University, Shukugawa Park, and Hankyu Nishinomiya-Kitaguchi Station
3. “Toilet no Kamisama” (2011 TV drama) used Hyogo Prefectural Nishinomiya High School
as filming spots!
Finally
With the semi-emergency measures in effect, it’s getting harder to go out again…
So why not enjoy the feeling of going out from home and tour filming locations through dramas and movies?
I’m going to watch “Hankyu Railway” again for the first time in ages! The original novel is great too😉
