Welcome to “Nishitsu: What Do You Call It?”, a series where we ask readers what they call certain things around Nishinomiya and turn the answers into articles.
This article is brought to you by “GenkiStyle,” a foot treatment clinic that supports Nishitsu.
This time, the question is: What do you call “Kansai Super”?

If you’re thinking, “I can’t really tell how Kansū is pronounced just from the text,” check this out↓↓
Kansai Super
Kansai Super is a food supermarket chain with stores in Hyogo Prefecture, Osaka, and Nara Prefecture.
There are five locations in Nishinomiya City: Taisha, Hirota, Kurakuen, Naruo, and Hamamatsubara.

Here’s how the Nishitsu members answered↓↓

I don’t think it comes up in conversation often enough for me to abbreviate it 😂
Finally
Among the Nishitsu team, the overwhelming majority were in the “Kansū, with the ending going down” camp 😀 Actually, everyone said “Kansū” with a falling intonation.
Personally, I’m really hoping some people vote for “Kansū” with the ending going up a bit, like a Kanto-style pronunciation!
