At that English Nichinoken, another fun event was held, so we joined in〜
This time, too, it was held at “Nichinoken Nishinomiya-Kitaguchi Station 2nd Classroom”
Nichinoken “Elementary School English Four Skills Course” “Free Halloween Lesson Trial”

Taking part, just like last time, were Kurayan from Nishitsu’s daughters:
Miniyan
, a fourth grader, and Chibiyan
, a second grader.
Since it was a Halloween event, everyone dressed up and had fun ![]()

The event we joined this time was “🎃 TRICK OR TREAT PARTY Free Halloween Lesson Trial 👻”!

First, after entering the classroom, it was time for the Nichinoken classic: a card game
They’re getting an explanation from a child who knows the game well (lol)

Before class, kids can enjoy a quick card game in English or Japanese
Apparently, some kids even come to the classroom early just because they want to play these card games!!
There are all kinds of games to choose from〜🙆

As they played, more and more kids started arriving〜
Lots of children took part in this trial lesson!
And surprisingly! A handmade Halloween pumpkin even appeared!! Amazing〜 ![]()
Now then! At last, the lesson starts with a two-teacher setup:
and
!

The lesson has begun〜
The assistant teacher’s costume from behind is just too cute😂!!

A game where they search for country names on a map has started!

They split into the red team and blue team and searched for different place names.
Of course, everything was done in English〜!
They were looking for places the teacher called out, like “Argentina” and “Chile”.
Argentina, Chile, Saudi Arabia… You got it 👍 Last one
One more〜 where is it〜 I don’t know〜
Malaysia〜
With voices like that flying around, everyone was giving it their all!!
By the way, is our handmade pumpkin friend okay wearing that the whole time😂!?
The way the lesson moves along really hits the sweet spot for children
And another big point is that they’re speaking English before they even realize it!

Next up, they learned Halloween words🎃!

Vampire!! Anyone else not know how to spell that in English〜!

Using the Halloween words they saw on the cards, they played bingo
They can check the spelling of the words here too!

They try writing the words they just learned on the whiteboard.
This helps the new vocabulary really stick〜🔥
The blue team is writing “skeleton”.

The red team seems to be writing “Frankenstein”

The correct answer is Frankenstein… That one was probably a bit tough. 😅 (lol)
Next, they looked at the textbook used in regular lessons↓

Looks like the assistant teacher noticed!
As expected! So quick!!

For Chibiyan, who was completely new to English, the teacher quietly gave helpful little hints!
They don’t let kids start disliking English!

Miniyan, who has had English classes at school for over a year and a half, has started to understand a bit lately and can take part in the lesson fairly well💪
Chibiyan doesn’t really understand everything yet, but she’s enjoying the atmosphere.
