This month, we tried the super Instagrammable tekka maki at the newly opened “Sushi Sakaba Sashisu Nishinomiya-Kitaguchi”!
We asked the staff for recommendations, and these are the three dishes we picked〜😍
First up is the one everyone’s curious about! This is the “Toro Tekka Maki” 968 yen (tax included)!
The tuna is spilling right out〜〜😻
Beautiful toro〜♡ The value is amazing too! When ordering, they asked whether we wanted wasabi or not!
Packed with umami!! It’s fatty tuna, but it didn’t feel heavy at all, and I polished it off in no time♡
This one is just as Instagrammable! The “Sushi Restaurant Potato Salad” 418 yen (tax included)😍
On top of the potatoes are ikura, tobikko, and green onions! The texture is absolutely irresistible😍
I’ve never had potato salad like this before〜!
Last is the “Uniku” 638 yen (tax included), with a look that’ll make you do a double take😳!
It’s seared fresh sea urchin and domestic beef〜♡
Roll it up and enjoy it in one bite😋

This is definitely a one-plate-per-person kind of dish.
I really wanted a beer, but held back with an “All-Free” 418 yen (tax included)😝
Non-alcoholic beer these days is surprisingly high quality😳
Apparently, you can get free refills of the gari served as the otoshi appetizer〜. It really feels like a sushi place!

Final Thoughts
They don’t take reservations, and it’s a popular spot, so expect a line. But I think it’s easier to get in if you aim for the 16:00 opening time😊 Hii-chan visited around 16:30 on a rainy weekday and got in smoothly〜! Since I went alone this time, I could only try three menu items, but next time I want to go with about four people and conquer the whole menu〜😍 There were lots of families with kids and women, and everyone was taking photos〜! Sashisu has three locations in Umeda, one in Tennoji, one in Fukuoka, and this Nishinomiya-Kitaguchi location, making six in total😊 Being able to enjoy these trendy, photogenic dishes without going all the way to Umeda makes Nishinomiya the best〜.
