Right in the middle of the Yakujin Grand Festival, a mascot character from Tokushima Prefecture showed up near Yakujin-san♪
(Photos and info provided by Ankaz-san. Thank you!)
So here’s a quiz♪
Q. Which of the following is Tokushima Prefecture’s mascot character?
a. Naruto Kintoki-kun
b. Sudachi-kun
c. Fish Katsu-kun
d. Awa Odori-kun
Nishi2 correct answer rate: 30%
Which one is it?
- a.なると金時くん10%(7票)
- b.すだちくん81.4%(57票)
- c.フィッシュカツくん2.9%(2票)
- d.阿波踊りくん5.7%(4票)

This is the Naruto Kintoki sweet potato from Imoyarou, which we previously covered on Nishi2.
You’re probably craving some now, so here are some past Nishi2 articles.
So that means it’s not Naruto Kintoki-kun. If you want to learn more about Naruto Kintoki, click here.
Do you know fish katsu? Apparently it’s a soul food of Tokushima Prefecture.
In Tokushima, when people say “katsu,” they don’t mean tonkatsu, they mean fish katsu.
Tokushima Shimbun did have LINE stickers for a character called Fish Katsu, but it wasn’t an official mascot character.

This is the Awa Odori dance from last year’s pedestrian zone event at Koshienguchi Honwaka Shopping Street!
Honwaka Shopping Street has a mascot character named Kou-chan. So it’s not Awa Odori-kun either♪
Which means…
The correct answer is b. Sudachi-kun!

He’s really striking a pose. And really getting stared at. Were they selling sudachi citrus?

Looks like he was dancing.
Ankaz-san sent us photos from today’s 1/19 Yakujin Grand Festival!

This was around 12:30 to 13:30. When you see this incense area, it really feels like you’ve arrived at Yakujin-san.

So the food stalls start from around the area in front of the station.
We also posted an article about yesterday’s scene♪
