Yu-Pack will apparently raise its prices starting Sunday, October 1.
(This information was provided by Iroha, a Nishitsu supporter. Thank you!)
We put together a table showing how much the prices will go up, including the difference.
| Size | Current | New fare | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| 60 | 970円 | 990円 | 20円 |
| 80 | 1,200円 | 1,310円 | 110円 |
| 100 | 1,440円 | 1,620円 | 180円 |
| 120 | 1,690円 | 1,940円 | 250円 |
| 140 | 1,950円 | 2,300円 | 350円 |
| 160 | 2,160円 | 2,610円 | 450円 |
| 170 | 2,530円 | 3,750円 | 1,220円 |
The price jump for size 170 is unusually high.
On the other hand, the increase for size 60 is not that steep.
Actually, some of you may be thinking, “Wait, 970円 for size 60 is already expensive!”
There’s an app called the Yu-Pack Smartphone Discount app.
If you use this, you get a 180円 discount. Keep that in mind.
While we’re at it, there’s also a post office pickup discount, which gives you an additional 100円 discount. I wish they’d discount this more, since it helps reduce the burden on delivery staff.
And if you sent 10 packages in the one-year period before last month, you get an additional 10% off.
A handy little life tip for you.
In Closing
The reason for the price hike is, as expected, rising fuel costs and higher labor costs. Kuroneko Yamato and Sagawa Express also raised their prices in April. That’s just the way things are going these days, so I guess it can’t be helped.
