Nishinomiya ranked No. 1 for a certain topic in a little-known “Hyogo Aru Aru” ranking.
(This information was provided by Iroha, a Nishitsu supporter. Thank you!)
The ranking goes up to 10th place.
When you reach 5th grade, you go to “Nature School,” an outdoor activity program lasting about 5 days and 4 nights
This isn’t unique to Nishinomiya, but to Hyogo Prefecture, and it’s one of those “Hyogo things” that makes people from other prefectures go, “What’s that?”
When you think of somen noodles, you think of “Ibonoito”
This is from Himeji in Hyogo Prefecture. There’s even a sign near the station, so people who visit might think, “Oh, that was Hyogo?”
Amagasaki City is in Hyogo Prefecture, but its area code is 06, the same as Osaka City
This is a pretty well-known fact. In northern Nishinomiya, Yamaguchicho uses Kobe’s “078” area code, while Najio and Namaze use “0797,” the area code for Ashiya and Takarazuka.
And the No. 1 item everyone’s curious about is this ↓
People think Koshien is in Osaka
This misunderstanding happens all the time. What a problem.
Nishitsu has written an article along those lines too.
In Closing
We’ve been thinking about collecting “Nishinomiya Aru Aru” through a survey or something here on Nishitsu too, but I’m pretty sure No. 1 would end up being the one about people thinking Koshien is in Osaka.
*Iroha, Nishitsu supporter, thank you very much for the tip!!
