To sum it up, more children are watching erotic videos and photos on smartphones these days, so the city has decided they’re “not really needed anymore.”
They’ll apparently be removed after the end of December this year.

After looking into it a bit, it seems there are 16 of these installed around the city. Apparently, they were collected twice a month and then incinerated. Personally, I’d always wondered whether anyone actually used these to throw things away, but apparently in 2011, 2,945 adult magazines and 926 adult DVDs were collected. That’s apparently around 200 to 250 items per white post. Pretty amazing. This site has a lot of interesting details.
