It had been inaccessible for a while, hadn’t it? Apparently it was called a smoking room, not a smoking area.
Before it was removed, a notice like this was posted, announcing the closure of 13 locations at 11 stations. It seems they had been closed since May 1, 2023.
Recently, Seijo Ishii inside the same station also just stopped selling cigarettes.
Finally
When the smoking areas were closed last year, all Hankyu Railway station premises and platforms reportedly became completely non-smoking. After the smoking room at Shukugawa Station is removed, a vending machine is apparently scheduled to be installed there. If I remember correctly, Shukugawa Station already has a Seventeen Ice Cream vending machine too, so it would be fun if they put in something a little unusual.
