Nishinomiya-Kitaguchi Station has new ticket gates probably for QR codes

The ticket gates at Nishinomiya-kitaguchi Station have been updated.

The front part has gotten pretty bulky.

Hankyu Railway will reportedly start a digital ticket service using QR codes from June 2024, so this is probably part of that.

The service is called “SURUTTO QRtto (Kurutto).” The QR-code version of SURUTTO KANSAI

How it works ↓

1. Buy a ticket on your smartphone
2. A QR code is issued on your smartphone
3. Scan the QR code on your smartphone → pass through the ticket gate

In Closing

It looks like at least one unit will be installed at each Hankyu Railway station (87 stations total). This time, we confirmed that they’ve also been added at Nishinomiya-kitaguchi Station’s South Gate and East Gate. They’ll likely be introduced at other stations too.
