This year, “Sakura Light-Up Kurakuen” will once again be held along the Shukugawa River.
Here it is↓

Dates: March 23 (Sat) to April 7 (Sun)
Time: From sunset until around 9:00 p.m.
*The event is planned to coincide with the cherry blossom season, so if the blossoms fall early, it may end before the scheduled closing date.
Scenes from a previous year↓
This is around the front of Taishoan.

The rows of cherry trees reflected on the surface of the Shukugawa River. So beautiful.
By the way, even on 3/23, the cherry blossoms were still mostly buds.
Other Cherry Blossom Spots
The Sakura Week Nishinomiya 2024 booklet published by the tourism association had a super easy-to-understand cherry blossom map. Below is an image of the map.

There are so many places to enjoy cherry blossoms in Nishinomiya. No wonder the cherry blossom is the city flower.
Finally
Cherry blossoms in the daytime are lovely too, but Nishinomiya feels pretty special for having places where you can enjoy such beautiful blossoms at night. The flowers haven’t bloomed yet, but I think the next weekend, around the 30th, should be a good time to aim for. If there are any updates on the blossoms, we’ll write another article.
