It looks like a Shigaraki ware jar-roasted sweet potato shop called “もいきや” is opening near Kotoen Station.

Here it is↓

The sign was up😃

The shop seems to be called “もいきや”. Read it backwards and it becomes yakiimo🍠 (roasted sweet potato)😄
Here it is on the map↓
The address is Kotoen Heights, 1-2-3 Kotoen, Nishinomiya, Hyogo.

Area around the Shigaraki ware jar-roasted sweet potato shop “もいきや”

If you go this way, you’ll find Nishinomiya Kotoen Post Office.

If you go the other way, you’ll find Kobayashi Beikokuten and Megane no JOY at the end of the street. Turn right and you’ll be at Paseo Koto and the area in front of Kotoen Station.
What are “jar-roasted sweet potatoes”?

Jar-roasted sweet potatoes are sweet potatoes roasted using a traditional Japanese cooking method. By slowly roasting them inside a jar, they’re said to come out as sweet, moist roasted sweet potatoes.

Thanks to the “excellent heat retention and natural texture” characteristic of Shigaraki ware [Shigarakiyaki, pottery from Shigaraki-cho, Koka City, Shiga Prefecture], the potatoes can be roasted evenly, bringing out even more sweetness.
You could see the jars from outside the shop↓

Amazing! They really are jars😆
It looks like they’ll be selling varieties such as “Beni Haruka” and “Anno-imo”.
Lastly
There are a few roasted sweet potato shops in Nishinomiya, but isn’t a “jar-roasted sweet potato specialty shop” pretty rare? I’ve personally never tried them, so I’m really curious😋
