When you think of height in Nishinomiya…

The long-established Western-style restaurant “洋食とワインのお店 土筆苑” is super famous for its “Growth Hamburger Steak,” where they give kids one special hamburger steak (vacuum-sealed and frozen) for every 1 cm of their height.

But we heard there’s now a spot where you can measure your height at Nishinomiya Shrine, so we went to check it out!

As we were walking along the path toward the main shrine…

Huh? What’s this!! Was this here before!?

It’s next to the temizuya purification basin.

This is the same thing that recently appeared at Hirota Shrine, right? Apparently it’s called “Jinja Navita”~

If I remember right, this part is a digital information board.

It says Touch👉!

Shachomi is going to try it out!

The menu screen has items like:
- History and origins
- Festival information
- Charms and shrine items
- How to worship
- Prayer services
- Shrine grounds guide
- Opening Gate Ritual (Fukuotoko selection)

Tap each one and the information appears. The one above tells the story of Ebessan being found in the sea, first enshrined in Naruo, then later moved to the current location after saying, “Move me farther west.”

There’s also the schedule for the Nishinomiya Festival held every September,

a lineup of shrine items like omamori charms and ofuda talismans,

and even instructions on how to worship, which a lot of people surprisingly don’t fully know. Very helpful.

You can also see a list of the different prayer services available.

There’s a map of the shrine grounds too, and if you tap each spot, you can see an explanation.

This year’s Fukuotoko is introduced here too.

Next to it is a map of Nishinomiya showing where the sponsor companies are located.

There are lots of shops and companies everyone knows.

Under the digital information board, PR videos from the sponsor companies were playing too.

Huh? Is this…

A height-measuring thing~~~! I’m 165 cm, by the way.

Five shaku six sun! So it uses sun and everything~. Very shrine-like. I looked it up and it’s about 169.7 cm. I got taller~

Everyone, try measuring how many shaku and sun tall you are too!
