The Jizo statue in Tsumon Chuo Park, which was rescued by Detective! Night Scoop and everyone in Miyakko, has disappeared again.
That’s what we reported, but there has been a development! Here is update number 3! The latest information is toward the bottom of the article. If you want to jump straight to the continuation, click here

After the Jizo statue went missing on April 5, peke-san, the person who submitted the request, rescued it together with Detective Ishida on April 21.

The Jizo statue had made a complete comeback like this. For details, check out the Detective! Night Scoop program video or our article.
At 5:44 p.m. on September 17 (Wednesday), Nishinomiya Tsushin received this tip.
I think it was still there until yesterday, but when I passed by just now, the Jizo statue was gone from the base💦 Did it fall again…?

No way. I thought it had to be some kind of mistake. For the time being, I told peke-san, Taron-san, and Kuroki-san, who appeared on Detective! Night Scoop, about the situation.
Then, to check the current state of the Jizo statue, I arrived at the site around 7 p.m.

It really is gone

Just as N-san said, the Jizo statue is gone from the base again.

I checked to see if it had rolled behind there, but the Jizo statue was nowhere to be found.
It might have fallen again.

With the naked eye, it was about this dark. Here, I met up with peke-san and Kuroki-san.

We looked into the river with an extremely powerful light, bright enough to make it look like daytime, but

all we could see were sparkling young black sea bream. The water was so muddy that we couldn’t see the riverbed at all. Another reason was that it was high tide at the time. Just as we were talking about coming back tomorrow,

“Isn’t that the Jizo statue over there?”
A man on his way back from fishing, who said he had come to pay his respects to the Jizo statue, happened to pass by. His name is Rocky-san. He’s a Miyakko.
When we told him, “The Jizo statue here has disappeared again,” he was surprised… He had also watched Detective! Night Scoop〜

“I can get down there.”
Once again, a Miyakko hero had arrived.
But we didn’t even know whether it had fallen in the first place, and it was nighttime, so we decided to come back around noon the next day at low tide and check. We then called it a day.
Movement on 9/18 (Tuesday)
At 8 a.m., a phone call came in to the Nishi2 office. (Thinking, “That’s pretty early for a call,” I picked up.)
“The Jizo statue is gone.”
When I asked for details, I was told that the two people who had submitted the request to Night Scoop were in the river doing something.

Ah, it’s peke-san and his wife!(Miyatan colors)
That’s what immediately came to mind.
A LINE message arrives from peke-san and his wife
At 9 a.m., a LINE message arrived from peke-san and his wife.

If the bib was floating by, that means…

- The timing: before work
- The bib just happened to float by
- A rake happened to be nearby
You could almost say it felt like the Jizo statue was sending an SOS to peke-san.
The problem is the Jizo statue.
