It looks like the new Hankyu station planned for the Mukogawa River will open at the end of fiscal 2031.
(Information provided by kuwabon and Iroha from Nishitsu SP)
Here it is ↓
It is scheduled to open at the end of fiscal 2031, with construction planned to start in fiscal 2026🚆✨
Here it is on the map ↓
It will be built between Nishinomiya-kitaguchi Station and Mukonoso Station, on the bridge over the Mukogawa River.
Apparently the distance between the two stations is about 3 kilometers, making it the longest stretch between stations on the Kobe Line😮

A quick recap of what kind of station it will be
Here is an image showing the layout of the new Hankyu station ↓
Quoted from Report on the Study of the Tentative New Hankyu Station Around Mukogawa (September 2021) PDF
The platforms will be built like this between the two existing railway bridges🙌

This is what the site looks like. It’s on the south side of the bridge on the Nishinomiya side, in a quiet residential area. This photo was taken about four years ago, so sorry that it’s a bit old🙏💦
If you’d like to see more of the surrounding area ↓
Nishinomiya also has another “Mukogawa Station,” Hanshin Mukogawa Station, whose platforms are also located on a bridge🚉
The ticket gates for the new Hankyu station also appear set to be installed on both the east and west banks, meaning the Nishinomiya and Amagasaki sides, just like Hanshin Mukogawa Station〜
Economic effects on the surrounding area and more
The development of the new station is expected to cost about 8.6 billion yen(1.72 times higher than the original plan), and the cost will apparently be shared by the national government, Hankyu, Nishinomiya City, and Amagasaki City💰
Once the new station opens, the number of passengers getting on and off in Nishinomiya City is expected to increase by 568 people per day〜🚶♂️🚶♀️

That’s apparently about the same scale as Hanshin Koroen Station😃

If development in the surrounding area moves forward, the population is also expected to increase, and annual tax revenue could rise by 236 million yen⤴️
In closing
Apparently, plans for this new station have actually existed for around 90 years. For people living nearby, this may truly be the long-awaited new station〜✨ And of course, what everyone is curious about is the station name😆 Here are the results from a survey Nishitsu previously conducted👇
