From March 4 (Tue) to 8 (Sat), a panel exhibition called the “Spring Grand Sumo Tournament Exhibition” will apparently be held.

There were lots of Futagoyama stable banners. Next to them, photos of many sumo wrestlers were on display〜!
Grand Sumo: Exhibition of Yokozuna Through the Ages
It was held with the cooperation of Koshikiiwa Shrine, where the Futagoyama stable’s lodgings are located〜😃
Over here, there were life-size panels of Kotonowaka, a promising young wrestler expected to be promoted to ozeki, and Terunofuji, who overcame years of injuries and illness to make it all the way back to yokozuna!
When we looked it up, both of them are apparently over 190 cm tall😳 Standing next to them, you’d really get a direct sense of just how big they are〜
Next to that, yokozuna from the Showa era through the Reiwa era were lined up in a row. An incredible sight!!
By the way, as of February 2025, there have been 73 yokozuna in history. The first yokozuna dates back to the mid-Edo period, and across several hundred years of history, there have been only 73. You can really feel the weight of that history〜
There were also photos showing powerful bouts in action〜!
