Where are we supposed to go for meals after memorial services and the like now… That’s a bit too much for Saizeriya to take on.
I never did figure out whether it was “Hatago-ya” or “Hata-goya.”
We used it on the way back from taking both of our children to Nishinomiya Shrine for their first shrine visit. Since it had tatami seating, it was such a helpful place for families with babies. We kept going even after they got older, so I’m very sad to see it go.

It was the restaurant where I had lunch for the first time with my husband’s family, including my late mother-in-law.

Semi-private rooms, inside the station building, a wide menu selection… I used to go there for quiet girls’ nights with friends from work. I also had lunch there with my elderly parents. Just the other day I passed by, peeked at the menu, and was quietly thinking about what I’d have next time, so this is really disappointing.

We celebrated our first grandchild’s okuizome there. That son and his family have since left Nishinomiya due to a job transfer, and it’s sad that a restaurant filled with memories for us will be gone.

Before we got married, I used to stop by sometimes on dates with my husband because the private-room feel was so nice. It was also close to his family home, and it was a place where I could spend happy times with my late mother-in-law. I’m very sad to see it go (T_T)

“Hatagoya” had tatami seating and semi-private rooms, making it a place where people could feel at ease with small children or elderly family members. I think it will continue to live on as part of Nishinomiya’s memories. To everyone at “Hatagoya,” thank you so much for all your hard work.
