A restaurant with about 40 years of history.
Comments from Nishitsu Readers to “伸八”
Without a doubt, this was the most delicious okonomiyaki in Japan. Forty years, huh. That means I’ve been coming here for 40 years. Thank you so much for all your hard work. I’ll savor it one last time🍴🙏

Chii
It was always packed at lunchtime, and there were often times I couldn’t even get in to eat.

Masaizo
Alright, I’m going tomorrow.

Shibamura
It had that classic “this is okonomiyaki” flavor, and today too, it was the same delicious taste it’s had for years! The Ogo-cho area is residential, so it’s sad to see one of the few restaurants around here close! Until August 2022, Ogo Onsen was just 50 meters away, so the routine was to have okonomiyaki after taking a bath! Since Ogo Onsen is gone now too, it feels even lonelier.

KAZU
伸八, you were the best. Thank you for the wonderful meals. Thank you so much. Grateful.
Imataka Gorikin
I’ve been coming here so much ever since I was little. Without a doubt, this was one of the places where I felt I belonged. Thank you so much for 40 years of hard work.

We also received comments in the 2023 Nishitsu survey, “What’s your favorite okonomiyaki restaurant in Nishinomiya?”, so we’ll share those too!

It’s a small place, but they have many kinds of okonomiyaki. The prices are reasonable, and the portions are really generous.

It was near my grandparents’ house, and ever since I was a child, I went there every time I came back during long holidays. Now I’m a father myself, and these days it’s a place I occasionally visit with my own child. By Chimipa

It’s run single-handedly by an older lady! Everything you order is delicious, and the retro interior somehow makes you feel nostalgic too!!

We Received Some Commemorative Photos
We received photos from the family.

If anyone else has memories to share, we’ll add them too, so we’re waiting to hear from you.
Finally
There were regulars who had been eating this mom’s okonomiyaki for 40 years, and people who ate there as children and later went back as adults with their own kids. So many memories were made at this unchanged little restaurant. It’s sad to see it go. We hope she continues to enjoy every day, surrounded by her wonderful family✨

Thank you for cooking such delicious okonomiyaki for so many years!
