It looks like “Karaage Asahi” is opening in the Shukugawa Sun Seven Shopping Street in Wakamatsucho, under the Hankyu elevated tracks.

The karaage specialty shop “Karaage Asahi”, located in Ishibanecho near Hankyu Kurakuenguchi Station, is apparently opening its second location under the Hankyu elevated tracks👏👏

The address is 4-3 Wakamatsucho, Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture.
Area around “Karaage Asahi 2nd Location”
Across the street is Co-op Shukugawa.
If you go this way, you’ll find the greengrocer agri table next door, as well as Chinese restaurant Narunoki, leading toward Hankyu Shukugawa Station.
If you go in the opposite direction, you’ll find Indian Restaurant & Bar THALI, Boulangerie Friande, Nishida Park, and more, leading toward Nishinomiya-Kitaguchi.
“Karaage Asahi” is a favorite of Shachomi and mine too. It’s one of my go-to karaage shops, and I’ve been back many times.
Not only is it popular in Kurakuenguchi, it’s also a huge hit every time at Nishinomiya Hankyu events😄
The second location opening under the tracks in Wakamatsucho will, of course, sell karaage for takeout like the main shop, but it will also serve as a central kitchen and test kitchen, handling prep for all locations and acting as a base for developing new products🍗The shutters were down when the photo was taken, but interior work is currently well underway.
Final Thoughts
For those who used to transfer trains to go buy it in Kurakuenguchi, this second location should make it much easier to visit! They’re also planning a commemorative campaign for the opening, so that’s something to look forward to😆 We’ll share the opening date once we find out.
