The area around the Shirogaboricho Kita intersection, where Yamate Kansen and National Route 171 meet, has become a fiercely competitive ramen district packed with ramen shops.
The shop we’re introducing this time, “ラーメンたんろん,” is one of them. In addition to ramen, they also serve tsukemen and abura soba (their most popular item is apparently the abura soba).
It’s a popular shop that has been running in this competitive area for well over 10 years, but what kind of place is it?

“ラーメンたんろん” Dishes
I decided to try the limited-time menu item they had that day.

This is the limited-time “Niboshi-damashii (Special Niboshi Ramen)” (900 yen).
As the name suggests, the soup had a very strong niboshi dried sardine flavor.
Of course, I think they use more than just niboshi in the soup (probably chicken bones), but the seafood flavor was really intense.
They may also be using other seafood-based dashi besides niboshi.
If you like seafood-style ramen soup, this one is recommended.
Since it’s a limited-time item, I’m not sure how long it will be available…
The chashu had great flavor too, and it was a delicious bowl of ramen.

By the way, this is their most popular item, “Abura Soba” (700 yen).
This photo was taken on a different day, so don’t worry, I didn’t eat two bowls in one sitting.
Unlike the ramen above, this one uses straight noodles.
It seems they use different noodles depending on the dish.
It looks quite dark, but the flavor isn’t as strong as it appears.
It comes with a raw egg, and adding it partway through lets you enjoy a change in flavor.
They also ask whether you’d like grated garlic, and I strongly recommend getting it with the garlic.
Be sure to go on a day when you’re okay with eating grated garlic.

There is a ticket vending machine outside the shop, and the system is that you buy a meal ticket before entering.
