Sunday, May 24, it looks like “Oropa♪ MUSIC FESTA” will be held at the Nishinomiya Regional Wholesale Market (Oroichi)〜🎵
Here it is↓

They held a music festa last year too, and it got so lively that people were standing to watch〜
This year, presented by JR Nishinomiya Stores, it’s back with the name “Oropa♪” (short for Oroichi Party), and it feels like it has powered up. It’s also nice that the event will go ahead even if it rains because there’s a large roof〜
May weather forecasts can be pretty hard to read… so it’s reassuring that rain won’t spoil the fun〜
Oropa♪ MUSIC FESTA 2026
When is it?
Sunday, May 24
Morning market: from 9:30
Live performances and marché: from 9:50 (final live performance from 14:30)
*Held rain or shine (there’s a large roof, so rain is no problem)
Where is it?
Nishinomiya Regional Wholesale Market (Oroichi)
Here it is on the map↓
The address is 5-3 Ikedacho, Nishinomiya City.
A 3-minute walk from JR Nishinomiya Station, and an 8-minute walk from Hanshin Nishinomiya Station.
What will be there?
In short, it’s a packed event with live music + a marché + a morning market + festival stalls〜

Marché vendors
There’ll be plenty of drinks and food. Here’s the lineup that caught our eye↓
- Rucola・Ruccola: Awatama onion quiche, katsu sandwiches, chilled roasted sweet potato parfaits, wine🥬

Beautiful Italian dishes made with seasonal ingredients - Asian Dining Tinker: Asian rice dishes and various highballs🍛

Enjoy Asian-style street food〜 - KJ’s Kitchen: Burritos, frankfurters on sticks, nachos, Corona beer, highballs🌮

American-style burritos and tacos - Umaimonya Haru: Curry udon, draft beer🍜

An outstanding menu from the winner of Japan’s Curry Udon King title - Kimuraya: Hinepon chicken and highballs🐔
Hinepon and highballs is such a delightfully grown-up combo. A nice one for adults〜 - Ailes: Handmade goods, baked sweets, workshops🎀

Lots of cute handmade goods
Morning market
Apples, onions, and potatoes will be on special sale🍎🧅🥔

This is a look at a past morning market. It was super popular, with lines forming〜

In the past, some items may or may not have been sold at half price…
Sales end once items run out, so if you want to score a good deal, going first thing in the morning is recommended〜
Festival stalls
Super ball scooping and more🎈
Great for families with kids too〜
Live stage

This time, the live performances will run from 9:50 in the morning until after 14:30, with a whopping nine artists appearing one after another〜
| Time | Performers |
|---|---|
| 9:50〜 | Mokkens (OA) |
| 10:10〜 | Uffu |
| 10:45〜 | Kagaku Hanno |
| 11:20〜 | Takamaru with Moss&Takkun |
| 11:55〜 | H2 |
| 12:35〜 | May Be May |
| 13:10〜 | DANCE AILES (Kids Dance) |
| 13:50〜 | Gekidan Mongoika |
| 14:30〜 | Kanaderuzu |
The one that especially stands out is Gekidan Mongoika. Apparently, they’re a party jug band from Kansai that performs using everyday items as instruments, such as saws, washboards, tubs, combs, and bottles…
I can’t even picture it.
How do you play music with a saw? Like, scrape-scrape? lol
Also, DANCE AILES is a kids’ dance group from a dance school based mainly in Nishinomiya. Kanaderuzu is a talented band made up of elementary and junior high school students from Nishinomiya. Local kids〜
How much is admission?
Free. Admission and viewing are open to everyone.
Finally
Listening to music with a beer in hand under the large roof of the wholesale market while eating food from the marché is something you don’t get to experience every day. It has that relaxed local festival feel. Last year was lively enough that people were standing to watch, so the morning market specials might sell out unless you go early.
