You often see people ringing temple bells on TV on New Year’s Eve, don’t you? !(^^)!
Have you ever rung a temple bell?
At Kanno-ji Temple, located at the foot of Mt. Kabutoyama, anyone can ring the bell!
We went to ring the bell
This time,
went to complete the mission of ringing a temple bell for the first time ever! !(^^)!
This is the bell you can ring↓ If the weather is nice, the view is amazing too!

When you get closer, you can really see how impressive the bell is!
The bell-ringing fee is 50 yen per ring. You’ll find it on the right after going up the stairs to the bell tower. It’s the small wooden box in the photo below.

We gave it a try after a lesson from
! It went well, so we made an explanation video↓↓↓

Finally
★It seems that the New Year’s Eve bell is rung by members of the bell-ringing group.
Other than the 108 rings of the New Year’s Eve bell, visitors are free to ring the bell.
★Kanno-ji Temple has parking for 80 cars, but it apparently gets crowded every year during the first shrine and temple visits of the New Year. If you walk a little, you can also use the parking lot at the forest park.
Why not try ringing the bell during your first temple visit of 2020? Of course, you can ring it outside the New Year holidays too (^O^)/
