This time, I visited “三代目 鳥メロ 西宮今津店,” located right in front of Imazu Station.
It used to be an izakaya called “わたみん家,” but apparently it changed to another brand under the same Watami Group.
Actually, it looks like all “わたみん家” locations have become “三代目 鳥メロ” now. I had no idea.
The name “鳥メロ” apparently comes from the idea of making people fall head over heels for their chicken dishes (I’m not sure what the “third generation” part means), and there are two locations in Nishinomiya: this one and another in Nishinomiya-Kitaguchi.
So, did the chicken dishes make me fall for them?

Challenge Start!

First up is the “tsukidashi” appetizer (300 yen).
You can get free refills of this cabbage.

Best of all, a medium draft beer is only 199 yen!
So once again, I decided to stick with beer all the way.
This is the “Medium Draft Super Dry” (199 yen).

This is the “Seiryu Wakadori Whole Grilled Chicken Thigh” (799 yen).
There are two sauce options, “Special Onion Salt Sauce” and “Addictive Spice Sauce,” and this time I went with the “Special Onion Salt Sauce.”
A staff member cuts it apart with scissors right in front of you.
If it were cut before grilling, the juices would run out, so it’s nice that they cut it right before you eat.
As expected, bone-in chicken thigh has more flavor and tastes better.
The special sauce was also outstanding.

My second beer.

Already on my third…
Just the “tsukidashi” and the “Seiryu Wakadori Whole Grilled Chicken Thigh” were enough to get me through three beers.
It really makes the beer go down easily (though the cheap beer helps too).

Since I was here, I went with more chicken next.
This is the “Chef’s Selection 5-Skewer Yakitori Assortment” (749 yen).
It was an assortment of “negima,” “chicken skin,” “liver,” “regular chicken meat,” and “bonjiri” tail meat (since it’s chef’s choice, the contents may vary).
You can choose either “salt” or “sauce,” but I was curious about the “secretぷるぷる sauce,” so I went with the sauce.
It was a slightly sweet, rich, and delicious sauce, and I really enjoyed the yakitori.

My fourth beer while eating the yakitori.
Just as their concept says, these were very tasty chicken dishes that could definitely win you over.
And they really keep the beer flowing.
Now then, how much did the bill come to?
Here it is!!
2,908 yen!!!
That’s a solid deal!!
It’s cheap and the quality is high. The Watami Group really is impressive.
This time I ordered: Medium Draft Super Dry ×4, tsukidashi, Seiryu Wakadori Whole Grilled Chicken Thigh, and Chef’s Selection 5-Skewer Yakitori Assortment.
That was it!
