The food court at Hankyu Nishinomiya Gardens also has a takoyaki shop called “ごっつええ本舗.”
It seems to be a chain with locations mainly in Kansai and Kanto, and the Gardens location appears to be busy day after day as well.
Gardens has a lot of stylish shops, but I guess Kansai people really do love takoyaki after all.
This time, I went to try the takoyaki at “ごっつええ本舗 Hankyu Nishinomiya Gardens.”

“ごっつええ本舗 Hankyu Nishinomiya Gardens” Food
There are several different flavors of takoyaki, but this time I ordered the “Teritama Takoyaki (12 pieces)” (850 yen), which was marked as recommended.
The takoyaki is topped with “teriyaki sauce” and a generous amount of egg-rich “tartar sauce.”
The takoyaki had a very chewy texture and was quite satisfying to eat.
It’s the kind of takoyaki where you can really taste the batter too. Since the chewy texture helps it stay hot longer, be careful if you’re sensitive to hot food.
With the “teriyaki sauce” and “tartar sauce” on top, the easiest way to describe it might be like a takoyaki version of chicken nanban.
The filling, batter, and sauces all came together in a complex way, creating a unique deliciousness.
The red pickled ginger inside also added a nice accent.
They offer 8-piece and 12-piece options, but each piece is quite filling, so I was full after eating 12.
The 12-piece option is a better deal, but if you’re eating alone, make sure to check in with your stomach first.
