We Tried the Awa Fisherman’s Set Meal at Uo no Su in ACTA Nishinomiya West Wing Ground Floor

There’s a restaurant called “魚の巣” on the 1st floor of ACTA Nishinomiya West Building, and just as the name suggests, it specializes in fish dishes.

It’s more of a seafood izakaya, where you can enjoy sushi and fisherman-style dishes made with fresh seafood along with sake and shochu, but apparently they also offer good-value lunch menus during lunchtime.

This time, we visited “魚の巣 阪急西宮北口アクタ店” and had a lunch where you can fully enjoy fresh seafood.

This time, we ordered the “Awa Fisherman’s Set Meal (5-piece nigiri set)” (1,780 yen).

It comes with 5 pieces of nigiri, akadashi miso soup, sashimi, grilled seafood, and chawanmushi.

The sushi is authentic nigiri, prepared by a chef behind the counter.

Both the sashimi and sushi were made with very fresh fish and were delicious.

The akadashi and chawanmushi also had a rich dashi flavor, which brought out the deliciousness of the fresh fish even more.

The “grilled seafood” is heated with solid fuel, so you wait a little while until it’s ready.

Seafood such as salmon and squid, along with vegetables like onion, shishito peppers, and king oyster mushrooms, are heated together with plenty of butter.

The richness of the butter, the sweetness of the vegetables, and the umami of the seafood were all concentrated into one dish.

With sashimi, sushi, and butter-grilled seafood, this was a very good-value lunch where you can enjoy fresh seafood prepared in several different ways.

After the meal, we ordered this “Coffee & Dessert Set” (200 yen).

It’s a special-value set available only to those who order from the lunch menu.

It lets you enjoy a small touch of luxury at lunchtime on a weekday.
