I visited the long-established coffee shop “Top Coffee” in front of Kwansei Gakuin (*^^)v
Founded in 1972, it feels less like a modern cafe and more like a cozy, retro kissaten-style coffee shop.

What I Ordered at “Top Coffee”
A somehow nostalgic cream soda, 555 yen (tax not included)↓
With cream soda, you feel like you have to drink it quickly before the fizzy soda gets absorbed by the ice cream. It tasted like childhood memories (^_^)v
The rich cheesecake set was 746 yen (tax not included). The homemade, rich and creamy cheesecake had just the right amount of sweetness, a smooth texture, and went perfectly with Top Coffee’s blended coffee. Apparently, it’s limited in quantity!!
Needless to say, the coffee was reliably delicious (*^^)v

For the pasta set and pasta lunch, they’ll upgrade your noodles to 1.5 times the regular portion for free!
Overall, the prices feel pretty student-friendly… (#^.^#)

They have manga and magazines, and even a public telephone that feels nostalgic these days (*^^)v
There’s also a spacious non-smoking area, with seats that look like they’d be good for gatherings.
The calm color tones make you want to relax even more (#^.^#)
Under the glass on the tables, people have left all kinds of traces behind, like graduates’ business cards and event notices (*^^)v

Final Thoughts
While the shops around it keep changing, this is a place that stays the same… Visiting after a long time feels a bit like being welcomed back to your family home, just as it used to be.
Especially for Kwansei Gakuin graduates, this coffee shop is probably filled with nostalgia (#^.^#)
It’s also famous as the place where Toyoetsu once worked part-time↓
In the past, the first floor was Top Bakery, lined with delicious freshly baked bread.
Whether you’re visiting for the nostalgia or coming for the first time, it’s a space that somehow warms you up.. A coffee shop where you can enjoy blended coffee in a jazz-filled interior, or have a hearty lunch (#^.^#)
